Taxpayers to Uncle Sam: Show Me The Money!

Americans are just as concerned with the economy as they are their health; 89% are concerned about the impact on the American economy and 75% are concerned with the impact on their personal health; 73% personal finances

Americans say if they were forced to rely on their savings due to the pandemic, they would be able to live off their savings for 7.6 months, on average.

More than half of Americans (53%) say they are not withdrawing from their 401k early because of new rules/COVID-19.

76% of Americans say they have not experienced any benefits related to last month’s stimulus package 

• Around 1 in 10 Americans have received a check from the government (14%) or received additional unemployment benefits (10%)

Although most Americans know that the deadline to file taxes has been extended, more than half of Americans will not be taking advantage of the extended deadline.

• A strong majority of Americans (88%) are aware that the deadline to file taxes has been extended. 
• Nearly 3 in 5 Americans (57%) say they will not be taking advantage of the extended tax deadline due to COVID-19

Wave 5 was fielded online among a nationally representative sample of 2,016 U.S adults from March 28 – 30, 2020. Wave 4 was fielded online among a nationally representative sample of 2,023 U.S adults from March 21-22, 2020. Wave 3 of the survey was fielded online among a nationally representative sample of 2,019 U.S adults from March 17-18, 2020. Wave 2 of the survey was fielded online among a nationally representative sample of 2,050 U.S adults from March 14-15, 2020. Wave 1 of this survey was fielded online among a nationally representative sample of 2,019 U.S adults from March 05 – 09, 2020.
