Based on the results of a new KRC/Harris Poll survey, a majority (56%) of Americans believe GM’s latest offer to the UAW is fair while only 14% believe it is unfair. That’s a four-to-one margin. The survey was conducted online by The Harris Poll on behalf of KRC among over 2,000 U.S. adults.
These findings contradict prior public opinion surveys because unlike prior polls which simply asked about support for the UAW, the KRC/Harris Poll survey shared what the average UAW-represented team member of a “Big Three” automaker makes today and what they stand to make under GM’s proposed offer.
methodology
This survey was conducted online within the United States by The Harris Poll on behalf of KRC Research from October 4 – 6, 2023 among 2,074 U.S. adults ages 18 and older. The sampling precision of Harris online polls is measured by using a Bayesian credible interval. For this study, the sample data is accurate to within +/- 2.7 percentage points using a 95% confidence level. For complete survey methodology, please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
