1: Personal Care & Wellness: An Industry Snapshot
Our recent report on the state of the personal care and wellness space explores consumers’ thoughts about alternative wellness therapies and fitness. A few key takeaways include:
- What’s your comfort level?: Half of US adults (54%) agree that alternative wellness practices (e.g.,health or wellness practices not typically classified as conventional medical care) are safer than conventional medicine.
- Disparate relationships with conventional medicine: While almost half (48%) of white Americans agree that conventional medicine makes them nervous, this discomfort rises to 61% among people of color.
- Exercise confusion: Almost half (46%) of women (but only 34% of men) agree that they don’t know how to exercise effectively.
- Keeping on track: Sixty-three percent of women (52% of men) agree that when it comes to fitness, they struggle to hold themselves accountable.
- Motivational step count: Three-quarters of women who exercise (77%) agree that tracking exercise metrics is motivating.
Over-Index Report: This month’s over-index report uses data from QuestBrand by The Harris Poll to list 20 personal care brands that over-index with parents (children in the household ages 0-18). Check out a few brands that made the list:

Are you ready college basketball fans? The 2024 March Madness competition starts in less than one week! In honor of March Madness, we’ve picked our own champion brands. Using brand equity data from QuestBrand, we ranked 20 brands that over-index with NCAA basketball fans based on their brand equity score.
Below is a look at the top three brands. Some of the champion brands may surprise you. Reaching well-beyond sports, brands in our March Brand Madness report hail from the beverage, apparel, finance, and entertainment industries.
3: What Will You Be Eating For St. Patrick’s Day? Harris Poll – S. Rosen’s Baking Company
Even before the college basketball players hit the courts, Saint Patrick’s Day arrives on Sunday! In a Harris Poll survey on behalf of S. Rosen’s Baking Company, we discovered Americans’ favorite dishes to eat in celebration of St. Patty.
The majority (65%) of Americans indulge in Irish-inspired meals on the holiday. Among those who celebrate, US adults typically eat:
What do we NOT want to see in our Irish meals? St. Partrick’s Day celebrators said they would never add the following to a corned beef sandwich:
- Hummus (47%)
- Avocado (43%)
- Ketchup (40%)
- Olives (40%)
- Hot sauce (38%)
