A lot has been made of trying to understand whether pandemic behaviors and routines will become lasting. To understand this more clearly this weekend we asked Americans to consider some of their favorite activities and whether they’d do them online or in-person:

  • More than three-quarters of Americans (76%) say they are more likely to shop for groceries in-store while 24% are more likely to order groceries online for delivery
  • While a majority of Americans (83%) are more likely to exercise at home, nearly a fifth (17%) are more likely to go to a local gym
  • Around 3 in 5 Americans (59%) are more likely to do virtual happy hour with friends while more than 2 in 5 (41%) are more likely to happy hour at bars/restaurants
  • Nearly 3 in 5 Americans (57%) are more likely to get take-out/ delivery from a restaurant while more than 2 in 5 (43%) are more likely to dine in a restaurant
  • While three-quarters of Americans are more likely to watch a movie at home, a quarter are more likely to go to the movies
  • More than half of Americans (52%) are more likely to buy their own grooming supplies, close to half (48%) are more likely to go to the hairdresser
  • While more than 3 in 5 Americans (61%) are more likely to save more and spend less, close to 2 in 5 (39%) are more likely to resume normal spending habits
  • While 64% of Americans say they are more likely to buy only what they need, 36% say they are more likely to buy in bulk/ one-stop shopping trips
  • Nearly 7 in 10 Americans (69%) say they are more likely to shop in-store for household products, while nearly 3 in 10 (31%) are more likely to shop online for household products
