In 2026, the World Cup is coming to North America – with matches spread across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. From June 11th-July 19th, soccer fans will cheer for their favorite teams and players, as they battle it out to see what country’s team comes out on top. 

America’s appetite for soccer is on the rise – almost half (45%) of Americans say their interest in soccer is increasing. This interest is even more heightened with the World Cup coming to North America – (70%) of soccer fans agree that they are more excited about the 2026 World Cup specifically because it will be held in North America.

Using data from The Harris Poll’s Sports Momentum Index, and custom surveys, this report explores how U.S. companies can take advantage of Americans’ growing interest in soccer – to increase brand visibility, engagement and ultimately revenue when the World Cup is held in our own backyard.
