    The Harris Poll is founded by Louis Harris.

  • 1960

    We are the pollster for then-president John F. Kennedy and help propel the senator to victory.

  • 1975

    We conducted a survey for the National Council on Aging that led to the abolition of mandatory retirement at 65.

  • 1986

    Our surveys help add $3 billion to the federal program for the education of children with disabilities.

  • 1990

    Our research helps pass the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

  • 2003

    We surveyed pharmaceutical prices that led to the Medicare Modernization Act and the Part D drug benefit.

  • 2010

    A series of our surveys on how the U.S. healthcare system compares to 10 other countries contributes to the passage of the Affordable Care Act.

  • 2014

    Stagwell Media acquires The Harris Poll from Nielsen and gives the brand a new life and focus.

  • 2020

    We launch the industry-leading QuestBrand, which gives companies the ability to monitor brands in an ever-changing digital landscape through a SaaS tool.

    The Harris Poll continues to invest and expand our HarrisQuest suite of products by acquiring BERA, a leading predictive brand technology platform with cutting edge AI.

  • 2025

    Maru, a leading UK-based insights and analytics company, is officially rebranded to The Harris Poll UK, building on years of delivering deliver high-impact, tech-enabled insights.

    Expansion of HarrisQuest across Europe, bringing always-on brand and reputation tracking capabilities to more global markets.
