Between inflation and emerging tariffs, it’s been a difficult economy for retailers to encourage spending. Here, we use data from recent Harris Poll surveys and QuestBrand data to explore what factors actually entice consumers to shop. Our goal is to provide companies with the information needed to overcome this turbulent economic environment.

The snapshot explores Americans’ online shopping habits and thoughts about customer service interactions. We close with our monthly over-index report – listing retail brands that over-index with U.S. households with kids. The report is intended to provide a glimpse into the world of retail as of April 2025.
