A smaller percentage of Americans are also looking to tech for other aspects of their well-being. 13% are turning to digital mindfulness tools, such as Calm and Headspace, more than before, and 8% have increased their usage of digital sleep tracking devices. However, the effectiveness of these options has been somewhat limited, and users aren’t seeing a strong association between these types of technology and a reduction of negative emotions Digital sleep tracking is actually amplifying sleep difficulty for 23% of those who are using it, but most (61% of those using) are not seeing any impact on their sleep.
This survey was conducted online within the United States by The Harris Poll from March 6-8, 2020 among 2,000 U.S. adults ages 18 and older.
